Our next stop was the Tortuguero national park on the Caribbean coast. There are no roads and the only access is by boat. Lots of rain, wildlife and spectacular views of the rainforest. The highlight of the whole trip was the night-time trip to the beach to watch Green turtles lay their eggs in the sand. An amazing experience, knowing we did our bit to help the conservation of these spectacular creatures.
There was a resident crocodile under the footbridge to the restaurant, but we didn't get a photo of it (didn't want the flash to annoy him!)
